Hi! A little about me. . .
I grew up in Orange County, CA . I moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University in 1991 at 17 years old. While at SDSU, I was fortunate enough to travel abroad to Mexico and Costa Rica to study Spanish. I worked as a Teacher's Assistant throughout college and while attending the credential program at SDSU.
After graduating, I immediately got a teaching position as a bilingual kindergarten teacher. I taught kindergarten for many years, as well as 4th and 5th grades, was a literacy coach, and a newcomer teacher. In 2009 I came to Bethune to serve as a English Learner Support Teacher. I worked with students in grades Kindergarten-8th grades to help them achieve English proficiency. In 2015 I had the opportunity to take a Spanish position in middle school. Learning the Spanish language is one of my passions in life so this was a really exciting move for me!
I have 3 amazing children and a wonderful husband of 22 years. I absolutely love to travel and hope to get to all 21 Spanish speaking countries in my lifetime! I also love to go on snowboarding trips in the winter, read, cook, go to the beach, camp, hike, and spend time with family and friends.
I love what I do and feel so lucky to have found such a fulfilling and rewarding career where I can make a difference!
